Description
Curvenet is a curve-based deformer that can be used as an additional rig in combination with the main rig or geometry cache to create secondary deformations.
I was very inspired by Character Articulation through Profile Curves by Pixar Graphics technology. Specifically the idea and the new approach to rigging. I decided to try to create a similar tool for Maya. Work in progress.
This tool creates a mesh of curves on the surface of the character and controllers that allow you to control this mesh. Changing the shape of the mesh deforms the character. If Curvenet is used as a additional rig, the entire curve mesh and controllers replicate the deformations of the main rig or geometry cache.
